In this week's Off the Cuff podcast, Chris and Mish discuss:

  • Russian Retaliation
    • Putin announces sanctions against food from the West
  • Jittery Markets
    • Have we seen the top?
  • The Danger In Bonds
    • That's where the real carnage will come
  • The Age Of Bubbles
    • We live in it, though it may be ending

Anyone watching the game of Russian roulette the West is playing with Putin is getting nervous. The US and its NATO allies seem to be playing as if it's "amateur hour".

But perhaps even more concerned are those with a watchful eye on the financial markets. More evidence is emerging that the multi-year run up in the major indices is topping out (many of these are discussed in depth in Charles Hugh Smith's latest report).

Chris and Mish discuss those growing signs of weakness, and note that the safety trade looks even better than usual now. In fact, Mish goes as far as to state that owning US Treasuries (NOT his normal favorite asset class) may be a good place to ride out a correction in the short term.
