Covid has been marked by Five Big Lies. Those are:
- 800,000 Americans have died from Covid
- The vaccines are universally safe and effective
- There are no effective early treatments
- Hospitals are filled with the unvaccinated
- Hospitals are filled with Covid patients
Today, these Big Lies are being systematically dismantled by the very same people who erected them, and we should not allow them to get away with it.
Their lies caused people to die, caused great economic and social harm, and ruined a generation of childhoods for two whole years.
These people need to be publicly rebuked and never be allowed to forget their roles or move past their personal and professional negligence and personal liability for their obedience to obvious and harmful falsehoods.
Test Marketing the Rewrites
As I pointed out, in the quiet week between Christmas and New Year’s Eve there were a series of test marketing events for this great pivot now underway. We saw Fauci lecture a blue checkmark “journalist” on the distinction between a child in the hospital “with” Covid vs. “because of” Covid.
We saw a few prominent health officials begin to loosen up the idea that the vaccines were effective by allowing that perhaps, maybe, the vaccines didn’t actually stop people catching or spreading Covid, and especially the Omicron variant.
Then things went quiet for a week. Now “They” are out in full force attempting to re-write Big Lies #2, #4 and #5. Soon they will have to re-write Big Lies #1 and #3, but those are going to be very politically expensive. Maybe court-ordered liability expensive too, or possibly even jail time. One can only hope.
Regardless, here’s how it works: “They” realize they have got to pivot. So, they run some focus groups to find out which messaging tracks better with the desired demographics. Then they push out some trial balloons and gather the data. Once they have a new message that serves their purpose, it’s floated up the chain of command until finally, magically, CNN anchors are saying the lines, and the CDC director is using them too.
