Welcome to the first ever “Chris in the Wild!” video. When I’m out in public, and we can, we’ll record my talk and then post it here at Peak Prosperity.
This talk was one of several I gave (all on different topics) at PorcFest in NH in Jeffrey Tucker’s Brownstone tent. The assembled audience is whoever opted to sit in the chairs.
In this case, the talk centered on Ukraine and the prospect of a wider war with Russia and the implications of that. Naturally, it all ends with “Plant a Garden!” which will either turn out to be very sage advice, or a bargaining-coping mechanism.
Naturally, I come armed with the facts having read abundantly about the Ukraine situation starting in 2013, its CIA-State Department-led “color revolution” in 2014, and the Western-backed murder of more than 14,000 Eastern Ukrainian citizens by Western Ukrainian forces between 2014 and 2022 when Russia finally invaded.
The context is, of course, important. Western media loves to pretend as if some things happened in a nearly pure vacuum – 9/11, Libya, Syria, Iraq – as if these events simply emerged out of nothingness. But the reality is always more nuanced and, once unpacked, usually points to the U.S. as the chief instigator and architect of the troubles.
And 100% of the time, there’s a huge machine of war profiteering operating seamlessly in the background. One could be forgiven for thinking that perhaps some people have compelling incentives to see more war and conflict, not less.
