Words from the road
Well, Evie and I are on our honeymoon, and it’s going fantastically well. Besides connecting deeply and having fun, we are still the same people we’ve always been which means discussing what’s happening in the world.
Our honeymoon is divided into two parts. First we went to the New England coast where we walked beaches, fed seagulls (and I hand-caught and rescued one from fishing line around its right leg), and fished.
I tell you, Evie’s a keeper! We just have fun wherever we go, and we’re a solid team.
At this very moment we’re on a plane on our way to Jackson Hole Wyoming for other adventures and Evie is already asleep next to me. So writing this up doesn’t take away from our time together…and it will allow me to get this information out of my head!
In truth, I wondered how I’d fare taking time off and I can confidently say that (a) I needed to take a break(!) and (b) I am apparently very bad at taking breaks. My brain is simply not wired for down time, and in order for it to even rest I need to be sure the world isn’t busy ending. At a faster pace than usual I mean.
So, to satisfy (b) and assure I can rest properly, here’s a dispatch from the road. If I didn’t clear my bookmarks I’d simply be swamped when I finally got home, so this is my way of relieving the pressure.
Nord Stream News!
Let’s start with the bombing of the Nord Stream pipeline, which was the single largest act of industrial sabotage in our lifetimes. It has done nearly incalculable harm to the economic future of Europe, and there’s simply no excuse for it to have been committed that aligns with the “rules based international order” the US neocons and deluded US military keep harping on about.
A Traitor Speaks Some Words
Given that that US military has now been double-fingered as the perpetrator of the Nord Stream bombing these words from General Miley are especially problematic.
