It’s Time To Get Serious About Resilience!

Okay folks, it’s time to get even more serious about your resilience and preparations. I hate to sound like an alarmist all the time, but that’s how I read the tea leaves here today. I really don’t like being “Chicken Little” all the time.

I’d MUCH rather be working quietly away on my farm and figuring out how to run an awesome nature and farming retreat and discovery center. Or maybe teaching people what little I know about distilling while sitting under the moonlight near a fire as we convert last year’s disastrous hard cider experiment into high-quality vodka.

Well, that’s not the world in which I find myself.

We’ve got the U.S. and a variety of European nations agitating for a ground war with Russia which, call me crazy, seems like a totally bad idea. Inflation is rocketing higher yet the Federal Reserve and other central banks continue to print like mad, while saying they might, someday, maybe begin to “taper” those purchases. Yeah, right. I’ll believe it when I see it.

Every energy minister and CEO I track all say the same thing: there’s a massive oil shortage that cannot be easily fixed and it will be with us for years (if we’re lucky) and possibly forever.

There are difficult-to-diagnose supply chain disruptions that are beginning to feed off of each other, and there are looming food shortages being driven by fertilizer shortages and weather difficulties.

Add it all up and we are close to a tipping point.
