This Off The Cuff was recorded last week, but took a little longer than usual to produce given the long holiday.
In it Chris and Mish address the forces we see emerging in Europe that will likely infect the rest of the global economy.
The conflict in Ukraine, like many of the other wars raging across the globe right now, is about resources at its heart. And the longer it goes on, the stronger the party controlling the resources (Russia, in this cases) becomes. The West can gnash its teeth as loudly as it wants, but the dependence the EU has on Russian gas is so strong that Putin knows he can ignore any bully tactics. And in the meanwhile, Russia is striking major energy deals with China and others in the East. Once Russia's gas starts flowing in that direction, how will Europe stay warm?
Europe's troubles do not end there. Despite economic slowdown in nearly every Eurozone country, bond yields are at all-time lows.
