In this week's Off The Cuff podcast, Chris and John Rubino discuss:

  • The Commodity Beat-Down
    • Why are gold, oil, etc so weak?
  • Fluffed-Up Fakery
    • Official economic reports are just pure fiction these days
  • The End Of The Long Cycle
    • The devastation when this bubble pops will be epic
  • Stock market roll-over?
    • It's increasingly looking like we'll finally see a material correction

There's a whole lot of territory covered this week in this discussion between John and Chris.

They begin by tackling the ongoing horrid price performance of most world commodities. Gold, oil, copper, etc — all are getting smoked. What's driving this? Several factors, but the largest being that real global economic growth is slowing down fast. Not that stock prices will indicate that, but that's because equities are still reacting to official reports, which Chris lambasts as "fluffed-up fakery".

John lays out the growing indictors that warn stocks are waking up to the danger, though. And he explains that not only is the risk of a near-term correction high, but that it is likely overlapping with a secular bull cycle-end; one that is decades old.
