As your information scout, I am reaching across my disparate warning signs trying to make sense of it all and I come down to one conclusion: Our time is running short. Time to put more effort into my own local preparations. Evie agrees and has been increasingly urgently tugging at my sleeves to get me focused more on the farm.
Luckily, The Great Taking series is now done, which frees up an enormous amount of my research time and mental bandwidth. Scouting reports will continue as ever, but now I get to divert my attention to other matters too.
This is a feature, or a bug, of my construction – I will not stop once I am on the trail of something. It’s like some force is propelling me along until I can make sense of the thing that is before me. I never intended to dive into the US legal code, Acts, Laws, court cases, and all the rest, but once I climbed onto that tiger’s back I had no choice but to ride it out.
